Tarot Card of the Day

Ace of Wands (Deck: Tarot of the Divine by Yoshi Yoshitani)

The Ace of Wands is the essence of the element of fire, which represents creativity, passion, and power. When you put those three things together, you get manifestation, one of my personal favorite topics. This reminds me of a quote that is attributed to Buddha, but that’s questionable, but it’s still good: “What you think, you become. What yo feel you attract. What you imagine, you create.” We all have the power to create good things in our lives. Think about what you want, imagine it in every detail, visualize you having it, feel the gratitude for already having it, then write down your desire and all the details on paper. Then give the universe the opportunity to respond and find a way to make it happen. It doesn’t have to be material things, it could be a feeling like love, security, or safety.

In the Tarot of the Divine deck, the Ace of Wands is appropriately represented by the Chinese folktale The Magic Paintbrush. Once upon a time, a poor young artist had a dream that an old man gave him a magic paintbrush. The next morning he found it laying next to him. Whatever he drew with the paintbrush came true. A rich man heard about it and sent men to steal it. But when he used it, it didn’t work. So he sent the men to bring the young artist. The rich man insisted that the poor artist paint him a mountain of riches. So the young man painted a mountain of gold in the middle of the sea. The rich man demanded he paint a ship that was large enough to carry all that gold. So the artist did. Then the rich man and all his men sailed off to find the mountain of gold. The artist painted a storm which sank the boat and all the men were lost at sea. The young man went back to his village where he and his people lived happily ever after.

We all have the power to manifest our desires. Many people call it The Law of Attraction. What you think about, you bring about. So watch your thoughts. If you worry about bad things happening all the time, bad things will happen. If you think about the future with anticipation and hope, imagining your life as you wish it to be, then that will be more likely to occur. Use your power for good, though. What you put out in the world comes back to you. So use this power of attraction for creating abundance and love in your life, and you will be rewarded.
