Tarot Card of the Day
10 of Cups (Deck: Light Seer’s Tarot by Chris-Anne)
We see a couple sitting happily watching their children at play. The 10 of Cups represents the ultimate achievement in the emotional arena: happiness. The thing is, happiness is not an achievement. It’s an attitude. It’s a choice. There’s a difference between happiness and joyful moments. Happiness is something we choose to live our life with. Joyful moments are fleeting, and they contribute to our overall happiness, but they don’t happen all day every day. Even when your life sucks, you can choose to be happy. Just because you’re alive and part of this beautiful world. That doesn’t mean you won’t ever feel angry or depressed or sad. These feelings are a normal part of life, but they are usually temporary. (If they aren’t, seek medical attention.) You don’t have to have a perfect life, or a perfect family to be happy. Let me tell you a secret: all families are dysfunctional. There is no perfect family. We all have problems and challenges in our lives. We all struggle daily to do the things that need to get done while trying to have some time to find those joyful moments. It’s our attitude about doing those things that determines whether or not we’re happy. This happy attitude requires 2 things: acceptance and gratitude. We have to accept that life just is what it is, and that no life is perfect. And gratitude. I could write all day about gratitude. Be grateful you’re alive, and for all the good things in your life. Take time to acknowledge the things you’re grateful for every day and it will change your attitude I guarantee it.
Today make a conscious decision to be happy. Here’s one way to get started: Every night before you go to bed, say out loud 3 things that you’re grateful for that day. Be specific. Tell the Universe what you are grateful it’s given you that day. This practice changed my life. I sleep better being in a a state of gratitude, and I am a much happier person. Do it. I dare you. Be happy.
