Tarot Card of the Day
The Hermit (Deck: Light Seer’s Tarot by Chris-Anne)
The Hermit sits alone in contemplation on the side of a stony outcropping. They left their lantern below, at the bottom of the path, but they do not need it. They radiate their own inner light of wisdom and peace. The Hermit knows the value of being silent and still, and listening to their intuition. We all need to learn this lesson. Sitting silent and still for a purpose is not laziness or boredom. It is good for the soul, and an exercise for our minds. Meditation should be part of everyone’s daily practice. You do not need to try to control your mind or your thoughts. Let them bounce around in your mind until they slow and then still. The Hermit has learned many things though meditation and peaceful thinking, and has many lessons to share. They sit comfortably alone in silence, not needing the presence of others to validate their worth. However, if you approach them, and ask them to share their wisdom with you, they would be happy to guide you to the path to learn the wisdom for yourself, for the journey is just as valuable as the destination. The Hermit knows, like the High Priestess, that wisdom and insight comes from within one’s own self. Not from any book or class. These things can help guide you to your personal insight, but they cannot give it to you.
Today, find time to sit in silence and stillness. Even for 10 minutes. Just observe the thoughts in your mind. Don’t try to control them. Just sit and be still. You don’t need to sit in any special posture, just be comfortable. If you do this often enough, you’ll be amazed at where your mind will go.
