Tarot Card of the Day

2 of Wands (Deck: Tarot of the Divine by Yoshi Yoshitani)

Ok, so you had your big brainstorm idea with the Ace of Wands, now it’s time to look at the reality of that idea and turn it into a plan. Do the research. Google it. Let yourself go down the rabbit hole looking at options because you never know when something will hit you in the face and say “Me! Me! Do me!” This is my favorite part of the process. I love doing research. I love looking at all the options available to me and choosing what to do. Then making a plan to do it. Make sure you do your plan in “writing” (write it down or type it up in your computer), so it’s a plan and not just a dream. That’s the difference between a wish/dream and a goal: you put it in writing.

The 2 of Wands in the Tarot of the Divine deck is represented by Janus, a Roman myth. When Jupiter overthrew Saturn as ruler of the gods, Saturn went to Janus, a human ruler on Earth for sanctuary. Janus split his kingdom with Saturn and they ruled together peacefully. Saturn made Janus a god who ruled over beginnings. The first day of the month is sacred to him, and he brings in the seasons. He is the gatekeeper and protector of passages. There were shrines to him at each major entrance to the city of Rome.

The beginning of your project or journey is an exciting time. You need to plan what you’re going to do, looking at all the options. Don’t feel locked into your plan, though. Leave room for spontaneity and fun. Starting with a plan gives you purpose and structure, but plans tend to change during the execution, and that’s ok. Plan now, then go with the flow when actually doing your project or going on your journey. It’s the best of both worlds!
